Three different grade questions that should not be mixed together

Current grade: use weighted categories or points already earned to estimate where the course stands now. Final-exam target: use the final-grade calculator when you know the current grade, target and final weight. GPA: use credit-weighted grade points rather than course percentages unless your institution explicitly converts them that way.

The arithmetic can be exact while the policy around it is not. Schools differ on letter cutoffs, grade-point scales, rounding, weighting, dropped assignments and extra credit. Lynara therefore keeps those assumptions visible instead of presenting one grading policy as universal.

Final grade formula

When a final exam is worth a known share of the course, the required final score is calculated from the target course grade, the current grade and the final weight.

College GPA formula

College GPA is normally a credit-weighted average of grade points. A higher-credit course therefore affects the calculated GPA more than a lower-credit course.

Is a GPA calculator the same as a grade calculator?

No. A course-grade calculator works with scores or weighted categories. A GPA calculator combines grade points and course credits.

Do all schools use the same letter-grade and GPA scale?

No. Cutoffs, weighting and grade-point scales can differ. Use your institution's published rules and edit the calculator assumptions where Lynara provides that option.

Can I use the test grade calculator for a quiz?

Yes. If the quiz is scored as correct answers out of total questions, the same percentage calculation applies.
