How to Calculate a Test Grade
A test percentage is simply the number correct divided by the total number of questions, multiplied by 100.
Method
- Count correct answers.
- Confirm the total number of questions.
- Divide correct by total.
- Multiply by 100 for a percentage.
Worked example
23÷25=0.92.
0.92×100=92%.
Notes
- Weighted questions require a points-based calculation instead.
- Letter cutoffs vary.
- Extra credit can push points-based scores over 100.
